Noguerals Priorat De Vinos The Spanish wine specialist in London & the UK

The Noguerals winery is a small family-run winery that has its origins in 1999, when the Alzamora family planted vines around a lovely old stone building known as “Mas l’Abella” in the Priorat D.O.Ca.. Mas or Masia is the Catalan name for Country house and Mas l’Abella is a very nice example of such a construction, which is common in some parts of Catalonia and the Balearic Island. The Noguerals winery, which was built in 2007, occupies a section of the Mas that used to be an old barn and that the Alzamora family had to refurbish as it was nearly abandoned.

Noguerals has around 3.5 hectares of own vineyards in the Priorat region in altitudes of around 460 metres above sea level and with Llicorella (black broken slate) and sandy clay soils. These vineyards are located in the Barranc de la Bruixa (or Witch’s Gorge) area of the Priorat. From these vineyards they produce their oak aged, expressive Abellars wine.
